Research finds the ideas, backtesting proves them, and options tools turn the best into income — the Trade Log is where you follow what you actually did. Record or import every stock and option trade, watch positions link into campaigns, and value your entire portfolio as of any date. It's the one thing in StrategyXL that can't be regenerated — so it's yours, kept in a local database on your own machine with the power of a real database and the flexibility of Excel.
It starts with your trades
Log a trade by hand in a guided form — stock, covered call, cash-secured put, vertical spread, iron condor, and more. You enter the fills you actually got, one row per line on your statement, so nothing is computed from a guess; the capital required and every figure downstream is derived from real executions.
Or bring years of history in at once from a Charles Schwab or Fidelity transactions CSV. The importer does the hard reading for you: it merges the legs of a spread, recognizes rolls and assignments, files dividends and reinvestments, and de-duplicates against what you've already logged, so you can re-import an updated statement without creating a single duplicate. Nothing is committed until you've seen it — the preview lays out every position it reconstructed, and you confirm before anything is written.
The story of a position, not just a list of trades
A wheel that runs for months, a put you roll three times, a covered call that gets called away — those aren't separate trades, they're one story. StrategyXL links positions in the same symbol and account that overlap in time into a campaign, automatically, and tracks it as a whole: realized and still-open premium, dividends collected, capital deployed, and a campaign-adjusted breakeven that folds every credit you've taken in back into your cost. You finally get to see whether the whole effort actually made money.
Every open option, at a glance
The board an options-income trader actually wants: every open position, grouped by strategy, with days to expiration, distance to the money, delta, net credit and net risk, option mark-to-market and % earned, and the campaign-adjusted breakeven each row is measured against. The positions at real assignment risk are flagged, and a per-account coverage panel shows your cash against the capital reserved — how much you'd need if every short were assigned, and how much only the in-the-money ones would take.
Connect your Schwab account and it goes live — marks and the underlying stream in and the whole board recomputes on every tick. Any row you'd rather adjust drops straight into Roll Analysis.
The Trade Log is your system of record: it's kept in a local database on your own PC — the power of a real database with the flexibility of Excel — and never routes through a StrategyXL server. Backup and restore are built in, so moving your book between machines is a deliberate copy — not a cloud sync you have to trust. And your records are never held hostage: even if a subscription lapses, you can always open, view, back up, and restore your Trade Log. Only the active licensed tools pause — your history stays open to you.
Monthly or annual — research, backtesting, options income, and a full trade log, all in Excel on your own data. And your book stays yours: even if a subscription lapses, you can always open, back up, and restore your Trade Log.
